Scott Iwasaki arts parkrecord. The poem, commissioned by the Utah Arts Council and Spike , will feature a multi-media backdrop. Approximately 32 high schools in Utah participated in Poetry Out Loud activities and competed in school and regional competitions around the state. Students recited works they selected from an anthology of nearly classic and contemporary poems.

Peter Davies, born in England, has lived in the United States for the past thirty years. He retired from running a distribution business IN California and now works at Kelsay Books as a copy editor. Peter lives in American Fork and travels to England often.

John Whitworth wrote poetry that was both popular and proficient. His work appeared in many English journals.

John taught a master class at the University of Kent and was a well-loved formalist poet. The reading is open to the general public. Each edition will include poetry happenings and other announcements coming up in Utah, with highlights specifically for Utah county. This month includes a special feature for Utah Humanities Book Festival —a celebration of books and the resulting conversations—with a long list of events all across Utah running from September 14 — October The Utah Humanities Book Festival marks 22 years of improving Utah communities through reading, literature, and conversations with authors and each other.

More authors and related events are being added until the book festival begins, so check back often.
